As our existing roadways become more congested and expansion is not feasible due to the high cost of right-of-way, we are challenged with investing in alternate engineering techniques to maximize the capacity of our existing roadways. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is a modern technology for continuous traffic performance optimization. Increasing traffic loads have raised the demand for ITS solutions as an alternative or supplement to more traditional solutions. ITS applications are typically used to improve road network performance, provide information services to motorists, improve road safety or minimize traffic impacts on the environment.

SCI Engineering, P.C. (SCI), has considerable experience within the various fields of ITS. We are continuously involved in all phases of ITS projects from analysis, planning, specification, preparation, supervision and testing to evaluation and supervision of operation and maintenance.
